“We were pretty happy with the place and would potentially stay there again.”
Clean, nice to have a spa, 5 TVs was a bonus :). Very Sunny place. The only 3 downsides were, we took our dog and though the backyard is fenced, it meant we had to have the sunny side shut up making the place very hot. Needs to have a few fans. We ended up buying one. There is one bedroom which is in the middle of the house with no external walls so is very dark. That room is also VERY hot, hence why we bought a fan. Lastly, having the toilet in the bathroom means the place probably wouldn't ...

Moira “Spa and TV's were great.”
Quite a cramped space for 6 people. We missed the small things: potato peeler, paper towels, salt & pepper, pegs. Trampoline not in good condition. Kids found things under the couches so obviously hadn't been vacuumed properly. 2 of the stovetop elements smoked when we turned them on so we couldn't use them....hadn't been cleaned properly. Not likely to stay here again!

The fully fenced property is perfect if you want to take your pet/s and the homely feel makes it easy to relax. Will definitely be back.

Things we loved: - pet friendly - spa pool - back yard and outdoor dining spaces - well stocked kitchen - modern, usable bathroom Things that could have been better: - house was so uncomfortably hot. Carpets and rugs everywhere made it feel oppressive to be inside. The air conditioning helped a bit but only in the lounge. Stifling heat at night with no ventilation made it impossible to get a good nights sleep. This could be improved with hrv or even fans for each bedroom. And take out all the rugs! - clutter everywhere. This is clearly a much loved family bach but if you are going to rent it out less is more. We had to clear space in the kitchen and living areas, which were packed with the owners personal stuff, when really this should have all been done ahead of our arrival - internal bedroom was not great. This is described on the website but no mention that a glass sliding door is the only separation from the main living area. We were creeping about like ninjas trying not to disturb family in there. - the photos on the Bachcare site are lovely but don’t paint an accurate picture of the size of the place. It is tiny and really only suited to 2-4 people. - shared driveway. Ok as long as you are not taking a boat (which we were)

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. The home is well equipped for indoor and outdoor entertaining. The beds were comfortable with quality pillows and duvet covers. Everything we needed was there. The location was safe and private and the backyard was sheltered from the wind. We had marshmellows over the brazier in the evenings. The tv in the spa pool area was a bonus and i personally, loved the couple of hours alone in there while everyone else pottered around. I highly rate your home. Thanks again for sharing it with us.

Spa pool was hot, clean and relaxing. It was easy to find, walking distance to the shops, and had everything we needed, 2 outdoor seating areas on different sides of the house so weather dependant we could sit comfortably outside.

Well equipped and spacious enough so as to not be in each other’s back pockets. I think basics ie. salt and pepper, sugar etc should be a minimum in the kitchen… Tv is wifi dependent and the wifi wasn’t great. Spa was great. Speakers on the spa tv sound blown and the exposed 4 plug could become an issue. Other than that, LOVED our stay. Great place. The games/toy cupboard was a wonderful discovery. Thank you

Jacques “The Bach was clean, comfortable and met all our expectations.”
It is relatively close to the beach and town centre. And when the weather was bad, the spa pool was a great place to wait for the sun to return.

The spa is very large, has fab jets and even a TV. The facilities were great, lots of TV's, games, the furniture and beds were comfy, shower is very large, good outside covered area and the kitchen was well stocked with plates, toaster, coffee machine etc. It was really lovely to be able to bring my dog and great that it's fenced at the back, but there isn't a lot of grass area, also you are asked not to close the front gate as there is another house on the property. This was a shame and meant the dog only had a small area to be in, not the whole property as on the pic. Overall the house was very clean and tidy, although some cleaning things had not been done like the dishwasher emptied, which should of been checked by the cleaner.

Plenty of couch space to relax on with a family of 5 too. Unfortunately we had some trouble with the WiFi dropping in and out most of the weekend which made it tricky to watch tv as all rely on internet to work... otherwise very happy with our stay.

We enjoyed the trampoline and the spa pool. Just a note, the 3rd bedroom is internal therefore no windows to the outside. Besides that we were happy with the accommodation and would recommend it for a family.

Clean filtered tank water. Great to have Netflix/wifi provided, especially to keep the younger ones entertained. Trampoline and sports equipment a bonus. Spa pool makes this place so special and relaxing, don’t want to many people to book because I am selfish and want to come back! Love this place.

Also safe for dogs. Very low on resources (recycling bags, dishwashing liquid, coffee pods) so take your own (bags can be bought at 4 square which we only found out on the last day).

We could cycle to the town centre and the estuary. A few minutes drive to the surf beach. And we found lots to do in the area. The bach was very clean and comfortable with a great outdoor area, fully fenced for our toddler and little dog and in a quiet street. We were delighted to find a new spa and an outdoor fireplace. Great for all ages.

The house is quite small but we spent most of the time outside. It is a little cluttered so there isn't a lot of room inside on rainy days.

It meet our needs and we had a great weekend. Inside is kind of funky and the room layout is odd. But the outside space and set up is brilliant. I would recommend it - especially in Summer when you can really live in the properties best social spaces - which are outdoors.

Sunnyside Retreat is a 3 bedroom Mangawhai holiday home with Spa Pool. Everything you need for a comfortable home away from home is on hand, including easy indoor/outdoor living, just a 2-minute drive to the beach! This Mangawhai holiday home includes a cute open plan living area. The fresh and homely atmosphere offers a great base to relax, with fantastic outdoor flow onto the sheltered patio - chill out in the spa pool or enjoy cruisy al fresco living while the kids play on the trampoline in the sunny garden!
