Lilias “This bach is in a magic spot.”
I was nervous when a friend made a rude comment about Mārahau having mudbanks but totally fell in love with the acres of sand (not mud) that spread out in front of us at low tide. We made full use of water taxis and walking and kayaking and loved coming back to this delightful home with stunning views.

Christine “Great spot and lovely cottage with everything you need.”
Loved the front covered verandah with amazing view across the water.
- Christine, December 2023Jenny “Very nice house, comfy front bedroom bed, well supplied kitchen, good having table mats and good curtaining for the night, excellent location, good bathroom, nice garden and good places to sit in the warm evenings.”
Thank you very much.
- Jenny, January 2023Christine “Comfortable homely Bach with a fantastic sea view.”
Will definitely be back for another break.
- Christine, May 2022Sandra “This house is at a lovely location.”
Just across the street from the beach. Lots of space on the porch to hang out. It’s a rustic bach, don’t expect bling but has everything you need. Wifi can be purchased from the campsite next door. My only complaint would be the cleanliness of the place. It looked like someone did a quick swing with the vacuum and changed the bedsheets and that’s about it. So don’t look too closely
- Sandra, January 2022Sue “Everything you need for an enjoyable holiday experience plus exceptional views.”
- Sue, April 2021Emma “Fabulous little house.”
We loved being across from the water and the cafe and seeing all the action.
- Emma, January 2021Sandra “A great place to stay, something for everyone, close to the beach, with great views in every direction, including the local action of boats and tractors.”
The covered veranda was great for sun shade and for sitting out during a rain shower. Really enjoyed our stay, and hope to return. P.S the highlight was about 30 dolphins playing beside our water taxi near totaranui
- Sandra, November 2020Brenda “A quaint old cottage across the road from the beachfront.”
Plenty of coming and going action to observe in the peak season with dozens of tour company tractors and boats passing right in front of the property, taking passengers to and fro Abel Tasman National Park. Expensive peak holiday period rate for a modest house.
- Brenda, December 2019Leigh “Spectacular view, comfortable, clean homely surroundings and everything you need on your doorstep.”
We stayed at Raisin Town with our 2 year old and it was so great to have the extra outside space, as well as the beach just across the road. Highly recommended.
- Leigh, December 2019Paul “We are an older couple who stayed for two days at Raisintown.”
The beachfront position is fantastic the Bach is home away from home and the manager is wonderful. Everything is supplied and the place is spotlessly clean. We will definitely stay again.
