Kirsten “We loved the place, comfortable and tidy only thing we would suggest is maybe getting a couple of comfortable pillows for the bed.”
- Kirsten, August 2024 -
Jeanette “Cottage was lovely.”
We had to go though the fire wood as the stuff on the top was not as dry as the stuff at the back. Also the WiFi kept cutting out. Was lovely listening to the birds outside. The couch was abit uncomfortable.

We only realized we were at the correct address because we met the caretaker at the entrance. It would be great to view all the cottages in one format. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

- Annie, October 2022Ruth “We had a lovely weekend at Overton cottage.”
The bell birds were singing as we arrived and the heater on to welcome us. We soon had the log fire burning although we did have a bit of a struggle with the handle. We loved the position of the cottage in the kanuka and the views over to Akaroa. There was even a morepork calling through the night.
- Ruth, October 2022Nicola “Gorgeous wee spot, couple nice walks close by.”
A village of cottages yet you don’t even hear or see other people. Overton has a hearty fire place, the water pressure is fantastic too! Great views overall 10/10
- Nicola, December 2021Nicki “The overall cottage experience was comfortable and cosy, nestled in the bush and surrounded by native birds and the odd sheep!”
! Very holiday feel and relaxed vibe! We cosied up and enjoyed the fire, appreciated the Scrabble set on offer (and made use of it!) and thought the book sharing idea was novel and thoughtful. We also appreciated the local walks info and made use of one of them! The view was stunning and the location was convenient. We felt spoilt and that we'd certainly had and enjoyed a mini break away. We'll be back!! Thank you. N & G.
