It had everything you need. The views were outstanding and having the boat road just down the end of the road was fantastic. The only thing I would say is that it needs a really good clean.

Needs more keys for the doors for emergency use or non key lock doors especially down stair room Longer stays require more towels or at least a dryer if washing is done in bad weather conditions Table great Chairs not so good Fridge door is a bit of a problem Lounge furniture needs an upgrade Rubbish- would have been handy to know about the rubbish situation before hand Didn’t mind taking the rubbish to the road side bins but bigger bags would have been nice Overall a great view from the house Clean and tidy and plenty of space for a family at a reasonable price

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your holiday spent here, remarking on the great views on offer. Your feedback regarding the facilities and amenities of the property have since been discussed with the property owner. Each door at the property has an internal lock with extra keys available on request. For longer stays, towels can also be requested through our guest ream. The owner has shared that there is a foldable drying rack which can be used in the sunroom for laundry. There are also bigger rubbish bags available in the laundry as there is no local road-side collection, rather rubbish is taken to a pickup up point after guest stays. Incredibly warm home with the large windows letting in the sunlight throughout the day and the wood fire to help keep the chill off once the sun goes down. Well equipped with just about everything you could want or need during your stay, and plenty of room if you need to get away from it.

Cobwebs in most rooms, dust and dirt and the showers wern’t the cleanliest. A couple of duvets smelt and were mouldy. Lovely and spacious for children but thought there would be a few toys for young kids. A note saying the Telray remote was getting replaced would have been nice so we didn’t have to look for it.

Ideal for the kids to run down and play by the water catching crabs. Driveway is definitely not boat friendly! And the place could do with a revamp and a good clean. However we enjoyed it very much.

The beds were comfortable and the sheets and towels were clean but the Bach was dirty: it needs a good spring clean and a freshen up and the the broken damaged couches need replacing and lightbulbs need replacing. Communication with Bachcare was poor we were unable to access the property at the check in time as we had not heard back and waited 30 minutes to be told where the key was. The location of the Bach is fantastic in a quiet bay with a pretty swimming beach and but only a few minutes drive from Akaroa.

House is well equipped but will need to bring your own gas bottle if u want to use the bbq (unless you can rent it from somewhere?). Location is fantastic, close to the beach and to Akaroa . Will definitely stay here again!

It was great us each having separate bathrooms. We all enjoyed the large lounge. View was great and I've never seen so many Bellbirds! It was not too far to carry the kayaks to the beach, and it was great to be away from the busyness of Akaroa. We look forward to staying in Takamatua again.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

Sleeping up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms, two with ensuites provides the ideal large family home away from home. Everyone in the group will be able to find their own corner of peace and quiet, then come together in the open-plan living, dining and kitchen for some quality time! Historical Akaroa village 5-10 minutes away by car (or 30-45 minutes via the beautiful walking trail connecting Akaroa and Takamatua). Akaroa is a lovely spot to explore where you can indulge in fabulous eateries and boutique shopping. And you'll love being able to launch the boat from the boat ramp at the end of the lane! All guests should take extra care when using the spiral staircase as they are steep and do not have a handrail.
