Lesley “Five middle-aged ladies, we booked 2 nights.”
We chose this property so that we could all have our own bed and we paid the linen fee so that we didn't have to make beds & do washing. The list of problems we had, and the amount of time sorting them out and following up with Bachcare, was a real disappointment. Firstly, no towels, handtowels etc. A public holiday and a "supply issue" meant none were available the first night, so we had to phone a friend and borrow towels. We chose this property so that we could all have our own bed and we paid the linen fee so that we didn't have to make beds & do washing. The list of problems we had, and the amount of time sorting them out and following up with Bachcare, was a real disappointment. Firstly, no towels, handtowels etc. A public holiday and a "supply issue" meant none were available the first night, so we had to phone a friend and borrow towels. A Property Manager (from another property) did arrive at 11am the next day and she went above and beyond to remedy the situation. A single bed wasn't made up with sheets (but a top bunk was, so one of the guests had to make her own bed at midnight when it was discovered!). No water in the Pod, this had been turned off; and the shower went cold half-way through because the gas bottle had run out (no notes in the manual on how to fix these). The toaster didn't work. The less-than-satisfactory cleaning, such as the dead cockroach on the windowsill, the crushed biscuit under the couch and the greasy baking trays; and general maintenance like a nail sticking out of a diningroom chair. We did receive compensation for the linen, along with plenty of apologies, but nevertheless Bachcare failed to provide good property management for this property and that impacted negatively on our stay. The single beds were probably intended only for children and would've benefited from a mattress protector at the least, but nevertheless were ok for 2 nights. On a positive note, the house itself was warm and cosy, and in a great location.
Thank you so very much for your feedback. My wife and I are so sorry that you all had such a difficult and challenging time at our family bach. I understand that while a Bachcare manager was able to resolve many of your issues it is still disappointing for us that you had these difficulties. Nevertheless, thank you for pointing out some of the maintenance issues that needed addressed. We can assure you that we have remedied these now so that others will not have the same inconvenience. We have also asked Bachcare to change our listing such that it is clear (other than just in the photographs) that 2 beds are indeed bunks. We have reduced the recommended number of adults to 6. Again apologies for the mattress protector missing. This was a surprise as all our beds and pillows do normally have these and there are spares available if needed.
