Stefen “The house itself was tidy, well presented with a lovely garden, positioned close to the beach and shops.”

Final thing was ants... they were plentiful and a nuisance. We had them throughout the kitchen the whole time and over the sheets in the single beds on two nights so not sure what can be done about that. Tim “Great location, cosy little Bach.”
Beautiful garden, has everything you need, kitchen is well supplied, I enjoyed the Soda stream. The cleaning fee of $169 is excessive, that is the cost for 1 nights accommodation, the place is small and you are expected to leave it how you found it, so not sure such a high cost is justified. Stay was overall enjoyable.
- Tim, June 2023Keith “Great spot with a lovely view of the ocean.”
Loved the coffee machine
- Keith, April 2023Sheryll “Great little place excellent location to beach and cafe and supermarket.”
Lovely view sitting on the front terrace and what a bonus having a fully fenced section for our dog.Would definitely stay again.
- Sheryll, February 2023Emily “Is a lovely, tidy place with great aspect, location and decor.”
There are a few things I'd comment on that would affect the likelihood of another booking. Firstly, it wasn't fully fenced. This was a real issue as I was there for 5 nights with my small dog and the main reason I booked it. Within 20 minutes my dog had found a way to get out - I think the mesh 'fencing' or under the wooden fence? This meant I needed to either have the door closed or construct a blockade using the chairs - which was pretty inconvenient. Secondly - there was no remote for the TV. I worked out how to turn it on manually but couldn't find volume or channels buttons. Essentially making it unusable unless I wanted to watch TV3 only - and loudly! This is very unfortunate as I was enjoying the idea of relaxing with TV in the evenings as I was alone. The cleaning fee is also very high considering the expectation that we leave the place tidy and 'as we found it'. I was charged $121 and cleaning after wards would have taken an hour at most if they needed to vacuum, bathrooms, vacuum etc. Also - given the small fan is the only thing available to keep things cool I would look into replacing the Heat/Cool pump on the wall. I did enjoy my stay but considering I paid almost $400 a night - I don't think I would return.
- Emily, January 2023Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback and we will definitely take your issues raised on board to work on. We hope you do return at some stage. Bachcare
Anthea “Had a great stay here, thank you!”
Very dog friendly, plenty of space to play on the front lawn, and well fenced. Arrived in the dark which I wouldnât recommend as only 1 or 2 of the solar lights up the path were working, but was okay once turned the outside light on. Totally worth it for the lovely view and great location close to everything! Love the decor and coffee maker too, thanks!
- Anthea, September 2022Catherine “Really great place to stay.”
Small but it had everything we needed, with a fully equipped kitchen. Loved the retro feel and decor. It was a great location to the beach. A couple of things though, the lockbox combination we were given was wrong. We did spend a bit of time trying to get in and found out the combination had not been changed as the voice-mail and email we received stated. There was also no dishwashing liquid. I emailed twice and got no response. So we bought our own which we took with us. Last thing, the cleaning fee for the house is totally disproportionate to the size of the house, especially when we had to provide our own sheets and towels. $100 added to our booking for two nights made the nightly rate very expensive and would stop me booking it again. Thanks
- Catherine, July 2022Anita “Cute, cosy place.”
Loved the location.
- Anita, July 2022Emma “A great little house handy to cafes, shops, beach and playground.”
Very comfortable and well-appointed.
- Emma, January 2022Susie “This was our 3rd stay at this seaside Bach.”
The location to the playground, beach and cafes canât be beat. Great board games, amazing view, gorgeous garden, warm and cosy. Only advice is to rent the linens or you will be walking up and down the steep path many times to bring all your stuff up to the house - which can be quite a lot with kids! Really like they have swapped the bunk beds for twin beds which can be pushed together.
- Susie, December 2021Charlotte “Lovely sunny home, nice sea views from house.”
Garden great for relaxing in and dog to chill. Was great being able to bring our four legged friend with us. Nice stay

- Dave, October 2021Carly “This cosy place was a good choice for a relaxing holiday for the two of us.”
It was cosy and warm and felt light and open with the views of the sea and outlook over the neighbourhood - very relaxing. The location was great and we loved being able to walk to the beach and bakery and fish n chip shop. Nice well kept grounds, with a garden and large lawn. Kitchen was well stocked with lovely view. A mix of old and new inside.

- Serena, August 2020lisa “Cute little bach nicely positioned with views of Kapiti and super close to the beach and playground.”
Its nice that its dog friendly and the beloved 4 legs can come too , but it would be even better if the section was fully fenced .

Bach close to the beach, superette and cafes.

- bridget, December 2019Susie “Excellent location and very clean and tidy with comfortable furniture.”
Right across the road from the playground and beach. Two minutes walk from 2 very lovely cafes with good coffee. Five minutes walk from the popular Waikanae Beach Bakery. Good wifi. Lots of board games. Great weekend away.
- Susie, November 2019Charlotte “We loved our stay at the beach house.”
The weather was cold and stormy and we enjoyed being tucked up warm and cosy on the bean bag and couch enjoying watching the storm out the large lounge windows. Great location right nearby the local cafes, across the road from the playground and beach. We will be back :)
- Charlotte, August 2019Kimberlee “We found the bach warm, clean, inviting and comfortable.”
We appreciated the advice of where to find the excellent croissants up the road (not to be missed by the way)
- Kimberlee, August 2019Ian “A nice, small, older 2 bedroom bach tastefully painted and furnished.”
Heat pump warmed it up quick on the winter nights. My daughter loved the sheepskin beanbag and the board games. Short walk to beach, cafe, dairy, takeaways and bakery. I suggest don't take too much gear otherwise you will be climbing the path to bach several times. Good for an inside little dog, not fully fenced (at this stage) so had to take dog down to front section on her lead to relieve herself as no grass at the top out the back, and didn't want her running off. The rock cliff face garden and other planting are beautifully done.
- Ian, July 2019Claire “We had a great stay at this venue - home away from home.”
Thank you
- Claire, April 2019Moira “This Bach has a lovely view and is well equipped.”
It is convenient to both the beach and cafes plus a small supermarket.
- Moira, March 2019Jason “Wonderful retro kiwi bach across the road from the beach and a children's playground, close to local cafés, and just a wonderful place to explore the Kapiti Coast.”
Tastefully decorated, great amenities, clean and tidy, very comfortable. Beware the steps to the property - not great if you're carrying lots of luggage or small children - and pay for the bachcare cleaning option: the vacuum cleaner is appalling and you'll waste your time trying to vacuum the floor. )
- Jason, February 2019Véronique “Very nice home, convenient close to bistro, beach and good bakery just 5min by walking”
