“Our stay here was excellent.”
The host is lovely and was very accommodating. The house has a beautiful garden and view of the ocean and surrounding farmland. The sheep neighbouring the property were very cute and fun to play with. Everything was clean and comfortable. We are keen to return next summer and would highly recommend this place!

Surrounded by rolling hills and rich farmland, Walkers Retreat is a comfortable self-contained unit located just 10 minutes from Mangawhai! Adjoined to the main home, this accommodation is separate and private. The space sleeps up to four guests, providing a king and queen-sized bed and is nicely complimented by a kitchenette and bathroom. With two couches, WiFi and a Smart TV, snuggle up and feel right at home! Indoor-outdoor flow means you can make the most of the rural outlook. Take a step out onto the deck, fire up the BBQ and breathe in the fresh air! With outdoor seating and friendly sheep, immerse yourself in peaceful and quiet countryside living. Tucked away off a country road, youâll forget Mangawhai village is just a 10-minute drive away. Providing shops, eateries, Mangawhai Tavern and a New World supermarket, thereâs plenty of entertainment and essentials. Kayaks boogie boards and life jackets are available for guest use. Two minutes up the road there is also a surf and paddle board rental, you can hit the surf with both Te Arai and Forestry beaches only 7kms away and even more beaches at Mangawhai Heads! Mangawhai is a thriving township located halfway between the Bay of Islands and Auckland.
