Tracey “An amazing view made extra special by the arrival each morning of four kererÅ«.”
Lovely lounge, kitchen and very roomy bathroom. Lovely quiet spot. However the Property could do with a bit of TLC, ranchslider in the main bedroom doesn’t close flush with the frame, the lower window in the same room doesn’t have a hinge on the left side. There was unfortunately no wifi when we went so if that’s important to you, you might want to check that this has been resolved.

Jess “This is a fantastic basic home, great for a family.”
It has a new kitchen but no washing machine but it is a beautiful basic older home. It has wonderful views that are unmatched and is very peaceful. You can walk to every thing in Akaroa within 20 mins and has great reception. We stayed for 5 days and had everything we needed as a family of five. Definitely head the driveway advice. But I’d definitely stay again.
- Jess, January 2024Kerri “We enjoyed our time in this home, especially the beautiful view.”
The only request we would make to the listing would be to explicitly state that there is no washing machine. While it’s not included in the list of amenities, it’s not obvious that it’s not included.
- Kerri, December 2023Oscar “Thanks for letting us stay in your house The sliding door lock is not locking easily.”
We had issues trying to lock the. sliding door every morning
- Oscar, October 2023Shannon “Great property with a lovely view.”
Nice and close to town although it is a steep short walk. A small gate/door across the top of the garage stairs in the hallway would be beneficial. We were worried someone would fall down there in the middle of the night looking for the bathroom! A bit scary with small kids around.
- Shannon, March 2023We are glad you enjoyed your recent stay here, Shannon. Your feedback has been shared with the property owner and will be considered to help improve the experience of future guests. Bachcare
Shona “Wonderful place to stay, close to the township, easy walking distance.”
Beautiful views.
- Shona, March 2023Amy “We had a lovely holiday and were very comfortable in your lovely holiday home.”
The view was absolutely gorgeous. Your instructions re driveway access were really good. Not having to worry about linen, towels and cleaning at the end of the stay was amazing. We were very grateful that that was an option we could pick and of course pay for. A washing machine would've made things a little easier and a sun umbrella would've been really beneficial. It was so hot out on that fabulous deck that we ended up having to sit inside or around the side (out of the sun). Great kitchen and very well stocked. We arrived with coffee pods and enjoyed one (possibly 2) every morning out on the deck. Not sure if you have ever slept on the single beds or not....lets just say that they are more suited to very little children. We will definitely rebook though. Thank you very much.
- Amy, January 2023Alex “Amazing accommodation!”
Million dollar views overlooking Akaroa. Very clean and modern. Loved the addition of the Apple TV device. Very child friendly with the games and toys as well. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough!
- Alex, January 2023Brenda “I called the 0800 number for assistance on SaturdayThe person that answered couldn’t hear me and despite saying he would call me back I never heard back.”
I left a written message at the house and have had no response. Since it was advertised that there was an Nespresso machine I expected capsules .It was difficult to find the property as the sign had fallen down. The concrete kerb at the entrance to the property was difficult to see and caused me damage to the car I was driving . The views were great .
- Brenda, November 2022Hi Brenda, Thank you for your feedback. Apologies about the sign this is being repaired. As advertised in the special conditions, we request guests bring their own coffee capsules when visiting. We are pleased you enjoyed the views. Thank you once again. Bachcare
Sally “Fab views , comfortable and everything you require for afew days R and R Deck ...”
Fab views , comfortable and everything you require for afew days R and R Deck and views our fav place to unwind after busy day Steep street access but knew that prior to booking , views are worth it
- Sally, September 2022Joanne “Hello I have stayed at this property before and was pleased with the home, however, this time it was not at the same cleanliness level.”
Bedroom with single beds - light above bed had no light bulb and the pillow smelt of cigarettes. The other bed in the room had a small amount of blood on the mattress protector. Room with double bed Lamp not working Duvet cover had stains on and a strong smell of cologne Toilet/Bathroom - urine splashes around the toilet wall area and urine splashes on the floor by toilet. Rest of the bathroom had dust and hair particles. Kitchen, dusty and frying pan had not been cleaned had remnants of food in it. Generally disappointed with the lack of cleanliness of the home, particularly when being charged that amount for the cleaning fee and the home was not actually clean in certain areas. Sadly unlikely to stay again.
- Joanne, August 2022Elizabeth “Loved the mid century vibe.”
The view was amazing.
- Elizabeth, April 2022Kim “The bach itself is great - lovely views, great birdsong, loved the large balcony, close (though steepish) walk to the main street, very large and well equipped kitchen even with tea bags and coffee, oil, salt, pepper etc.”
Should mention that the access is around a sharp bend and a steep downhill - we couldn't find a letterbox to mark the property. We were disappointed with communications from Bachcare, not receiving the lockbox code until our day of arrival after chasing it up, and then not being told where the lockbox was. 3 of us looked hard and could not find it. (My 79 yr old father who was first to arrive waited nearly an hour and a half, and my sister had to pee in the bush as they couldn't get inside!) It was also disappointing to find the BBQ gas bottle empty as we were about to cook our BBQ. Also someone from Bachcare was going to check with the property manager about a late checkout of 11.30 but no-one got back to us. All in all a great stay, but not great communication from Bachcare
- Kim, October 2021john “Lovely house with a breathtaking view of Akaroa.”
The deck overlooking the harbour was my favourite place to sit.
- john, July 2021Rachel “A lovely back, stunning views and the Manager was awesome to deal with.”
Loved our stay and we will be back!
- Rachel, April 2021Jan “The views are spectacular, the house is very clean and well stocked, the beds are comfortable.”
Communication from the house owners was excellent.
- Jan, March 2021Tania “Beautiful view.”
Sun on the deck til 7pm (Xmas/New Year time). Comfortable living space, bedrooms & large kitchen a plus. The road access was a little tricky drive (up a steep narrow road) but once you're in the property plenty of parking space. We got the hang of driving up pretty quick! Wasn't suitable for easy boat/jetski trailering. Close to township so can walk in.
