“Nice batch with good facilities.”
Great views from the deck. Had a nice relaxing holiday. The one minor issue was that the waste treatment system next door was occasionally noisey (pump drone) and a bit smelly. Nothing too bad but just thought I would mention. Also code for lock box was different to that supplied in email. Issue was resolved quickly by a call to 0800 no.

“The bach was mostly very nice and the location is gorgeous.”
However it is quite expensive compared to some other options in the area, and we chose it expecting that it would be modern and comfortable. We were therefore disappointed to find that couple of the beds were quite uncomfortable. The single bed base was so old and lumpy that we ended up putting the mattress on the floor, and the bunk bed squeaked so much that it kept waking up the person sleeping on it. Would highly recommend that if you are renting out the bach for this price that you upgrade these beds. Couple of other suggestions: 1) would be great if you could provide the info that even though the bach is dog friendly, the nearby tracks and walks do not allow dogs, 2) having a couple of cheap sit on top kayaks in the garage for guests to use would be awesome for being able to make the most of proximity to the harbour. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were great and well appointed.

About the location
Whangaroa is a not very well-known harbour, and is a truly unspoilt paradise. Steep bush-clad slopes come right down to the water''s edge, and there are plenty of private inlets and bays to explore, and spend the day away from reality. There are also bushwalks to be explored, and only kilometres away is some of the best game fishing in New Zealand.
