Linen

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

The property

The ideal base from which to discover the Coromandel Peninsula and only a short stroll to Coromandel Town. Crabapple cottage has a north-facing deck and established garden. Come and relax for a few days or have a week away from the bustle of city and suburban life. With expansive rural views and native flora and fauna, this is a place where you can truly relax. The indoor/outdoor living area is perfect for al fresco dining with a family sized table, chairs and BBQ. The natural shade of the crabapple tree is perfect for relaxing under with a good book and drink in hand. The front two bedrooms are historically significant, and the home has been further added to in the 1930’s and 80’s. Recently renovated throughout; the cottage is waiting for holiday-makers to enjoy. New appliances, furnishings and flooring have been thoughtfully replaced so as to retain the cottage’s character. A smart TV and WIFI have been added for your convenience. If you’re looking for adventure, there are plenty of things to do and explore in the local area. Bush and beach walks, fishing on the mussel farms, local shops showcasing local artists and zip lining at the Driving Creek Railway. The local School of Mines and Historical Museum is a great place to visit to learn about the area’s historical past and about how it was once a bustling gold mining town and logging area. There are several beautiful beaches and walks dotted across the peninsula including Long Bay bush and beach walks and Waitete Bay, 25 minutes north. Whangapoua, New Chums Beach and Kuaotunu are also a 30 minute drive over the hill. A weekend here, simply isn’t long enough!

About the location

The Coromandel Township is without a doubt the quaintest spot on the Coromandel Peninsula, and it is easy to spend time browsing the local art galleries, offering work from many of the local artists who find inspiration in the beauty to be found in the region. The local cafes are well worth a visit, as is the legendary smoke house, with a huge selection of freshly smoked local seafood. Also worth a visit is Driving Creek Railway, with its unique miniature railway.
