“We had a sensational weekend at Sandy Serenity and already can’t wait to go back again!”

Whiritoa Beach is a wonderful piece of New Zealand paradise. The bach is well equipped and well laid out and there’s heaps of space for everyone with the sleepout in the garden. Thanks again for a great stay.

“Wow, what an amazing place to stay!”

The kids loved the treehouse, the swing, the games, the big TV and movies! Us adults adored having a morning coffee on the deck watching the sunrise over the ocean. Comfy beds, full of character, it was bliss! Highly recommend.

“Unfortunately the property had not been cleaned prior to our stay.”

The main door glass was full of fingerprints on the inside which was a shame as the view was the ocean. Everything we took out of the cupboards had to be washed. The glasses were covered in fingerprints and the cutlery had dried food on them. No microwave, BBQ or Freeview as listed in the features. We couldn’t get any tv channels at all. We woke up Saturday morning to no hot water as the two big gas bottles were empty and we still had another couple of days of our stay. Bachcare did not respond to my message left on Saturday morning. When I spoke to Ellen from customer service on Monday morning she wasn’t interested at all and just kept telling me to email feedback. I was also told that the after hours mobile number only dealt with urgent enquires to do with keys and not having any hot water. I am still waiting for someone from Bachcare to get in touch to discuss our unsatisfactory stay at this property.

The owner has added a microwave, and the BBQ is available, but it was not placed out prior to your stay. Our apologies again for that, and for that gas bottles being empty. We do not anticipate similar issues for future guests, and have removed the Freeview from the listing to avoid any confusion, as there is only Chrome Cast TV. . Bachcare

“This property was perfect for our needs and we were so lucky to strike the one bit of perfect weather the whole of January so we were very happy campers.”

We had two families of cousins and grandma where we had all the young lads out in the beautiful new sleep-out which they loved. You really didn't notice the small road out front and it really felt like you were directly on the beach. Big section for all our water toys and cars. 30 seconds to the shop, fantastic walks including Waimama Bay, incredible lagoon one end the beach and the most beautiful estuary the other end for kayaking and a heavenly safe place for little kids. The original fibrolite bach was small and modest but very nicely renovated. We gave constructive feedback about providing an instruction booklet for the alarm, wifi, TV, water pump etc which appeared to be missing and caused us some minor grief when we arrived and there was a power outage.

The second living area accessed externally is a fantastically spacious rumpus room with a bathroom, ideal for teenagers or kids, with a double bunk bed, and single bunk bed and games galore...and a door to keep the noise at bay! The options for different bed configurations covers all the bases for your next family or friends group retreat. You’ll be pleased to know there is an outdoor shower onsite, perfect for rinsing off the half of the beach you brought home with you! This space offers ample boat parking and large flat surrounding lawn perfect for cricket or backyard games! Enjoy the relaxed, calm lifestyle at Whiritoa Beach. Whiritoa is a great place to surf, snorkel, and fish, so make sure to pack all the gear! Round up the family and lock in the good life - Sandy Serenity awaits!

Please note the bunk beds are not suitable for adults. Therefore only a maximum of 4 adults can stay at the property.

As the property has unfenced access to water, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.
