Sean “This is our eighth time to New Zealand and eighth time staying in Te Anau.”
This property is among the worst we’ve stayed in during this time and among the most expensive. The owner has had opportunities to resolve some of the issues we experienced based on prior feedback but appears to have chosen cost management over customer comfort. It should be much better for the price paid. 1. While a washing machine is provided, only an uncovered single line clothesline is available for drying. No clothes drying rack or anything else. Te Anau has a high number of rain days so we were forced to hang clothes all around the house during the entirety of our stay. The single line doesn’t have the capacity to take a full load of washing. Easy to fix this. 2. The shower! I’d be upset if this was a holiday park. No flow control so water literally blasts everywhere. A Perspex cover has been installed over the shower so the ceiling doesn’t get saturated. Water splashes everywhere when you open the door to get in. This is not that hard to fix- install a tap fixture instead of the third world set that is currently in place. 3. The house uses small gas bottles for water heating. Each runs out within 3-4 days
