“The house was amazing.”
Thankyou for letting us use bikes & table tennis…the kids were well entertained especially with beach being so close, perfect for morning walks & afternoon swims. Such a lovely house! There was also a family of Tui’s enjoying bathing in the gutter during our stay. Thanks we’ll be back

We would stay again, my only feedback is that it did feel quite expensive compared to other places we have stayed in Waikanae Beach.

Great indoor outdoor living. Everything we needed was provided and the outdoor self contained sleep out was fantastic. Very comfortable and the bikes and paddling pool were a bonus! Very quiet and so close to everything. Perfect for our family Christmas holiday Thank you so much

Everything was as we expected. We came from Wanaka, Taupo, Wellington and Greytown to meet up as family and enjoyed our 3 days at the cottage. It was warm, comfortable and plenty of space for all of us. Enjoyed a walk along the beach and a walk to the lovely cafes nearby. Just what we wanted and as we had hoped it would be, the cottage was sunny and welcoming.

This property needs a good clean up, The grounds need to be attended to as the grass is past knee high and you cannot see any remnants what may have once been gardens. It's a struggle to get to the washing lines. A leaf blower would be a good idea for the deck or at least a really good broom. The house itself needed a good clean too which in fact we gave it. My husband vacuumed it from top to bottom and removed all the cobwebs in all the corners. I luckily took some cleaning cloths with me and these were well utilised on the windowsills and tables. We provided photos to Bachcare of the state in which we found the house and grounds. We also vacummed and cleaned all windowsills and surfaces prior to leaving as well. The house was great to stay in. It's a nice property and well set up. However, there was no Welcome book, no instructions for appliances, no info on Wi-fi, no info on gas for the BBQ or instructions on rubbish collection or disposal. When I rang bachcare about this, on rubbish day, they couldn't help me. The old instructions were clearly not being followed as there was still rubbish in the inside and outside black bin when we arrived prior to Christmas. A real shame as this would be excellent if maintained and cleaned properly.

Shelley “House itself was fine, couch had not been cleaned very well as dog hair all over it and a bit of an odor upon entering the house,very well equipped in the kitchen although there was a lot of the ants the first morning and all through our cake, outside room fantastic.”
the yard was incredibly scruffy and not very well maintained unfortunately, hard for kids to judge the undulating ground as grass and weeds overgrown. The most dissapointing factor was the service provided by bachcare when we could not access the house on arrival, the lockbox would not open, there were no spare keys and owner did not live near by, 3-4 phone calls and about 2hrs later we finally got in (9.30pm) after a locksmith removed the lockbox off the wall. Not ideal with 2 young children, it was cold and windy...and our dinner also went cold.no communication advising what to do with keys and no compensation considered/offered.
