    “We loved the beach Bach but had a few concerns as listed below.”

    1). Not really suitable for any one with mobility issues eg. The slope to and from back door. Is quite steep for elderly people .Getting in and out of cars on the steep drive way which needs upgrading as cars had to manoeuvre around the run up . The stairs from the main house to the rumpus room were extremely steep and needs to be mentioned in the listing 2). More detailed instructions needed apart from the manual on the bench top hot plate and oven as we never did fathom out the microwave ...

Only the younger person in our group was able to work out how TV worked 3). The fridge door seal was broken and we did loose some food . Luckily we discovered this on Christmas Eve and we’re able to buy a replacement seal at Bunnings. I left all relative paper work at the house. 4). As we were visitors to Taupo we had no idea that the recycling and rubbish would be collected on Boxing Day. . The last thing we would have thought about on Christmas Day was putting out the rubbish . A note regarding this would have been most helpful . One of our group took all the recycling home with him. We tried to contact Waste Management but to no avail to empty rubbish bin. We made use of the BBQ provided but unfortunately we could find nothing to clean it with hence we left it as clean as we could . 5). We strongly suggest some sort of sun shade for the front deck . It was a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the wonderful views but alas lack of sun protection we were unable to enjoy this to its full potential. Also some sort of blind in the dining area as the sun blinded us in the mornings. Apart from the above fore mentioned issues the house was truly amazing and we loved staying there . The house was more then fully equipped with every day needs . Spacious and able to accommodate our family well . We had the most beautiful weather and actually did not venture out much at all . We made use of all the facilities there including the spa pool . It’s the perfect spot for a family holiday with the outside lawn area and the pool and table tennis table down stairs . I trust this review has not come across as to negative. I wanted to point out the few anomalies that can soon be put right to make the Black Lake House stand out against other holiday rental homes in Acacia Bay . I would most certainly recommend it to other people.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

Furnished for style and comfort, The Black Lake House offers everything you need to make yourself at home, including a fully equipped kitchen, Smart TV with Apple TV and Netflix, complimentary WiFi, and heat pumps to set the temperature just right. Alfresco dining will be the norm on a summer stay. Imagine coming home from a day at the beach, firing up the BBQ, and tucking into a good ol’ Kiwi feast as you admire the incredible views. Pour a glass of wine and relax as the kids make the most of the huge, lush lawn. As there is a section of the deck without a barrier with a drop on to concrete, all guests should take care when using this area due to the risk of falls.

About the location

Just a few minutes drive from Taupo Central, Acacia Bay is a great place for a holiday filled with boating, fishing and hiking. Head into town for some shopping and an array of excellent cafes, or drive to see the famous Huka Falls. Another great thing to do is to simply find a good spot and take in the view of Lake Taupo over a picnic or some fish and chips. All of our Acacia Bay holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
