A well-equipped kitchen provides everything youâll need to self-cater your holiday to the lake, and thereâs plenty of cupboard space to bring all your favourite foods with you so you donât have to spend valuable fishing time at the supermarket! Thereâs also a washing machine and hanging drying rack in the living room for those longer getaways.

Tauranga TaupÅ is a small, yet stunning spot at the mouth of the Tauranga TaupÅ River on the eastern shore of Lake TaupÅ. Some say the river has the best fishing in the area, and thanks to its small size, itâs a delight to fish year round. Here at Cedar Cottage, you're only a short walk to the river, so make sure you pack your waders and rods!
There are plenty of beautiful walks near Cedar Cottage, including the loop around stunning Lake Rotopounamu. Take a short stroll down to the lakefront for a sandy beach, safe for children to play and swim. Or, for a different kind of dip, drive just 20 minutes to the hot mineral pools at Tokaanu.
Tauranga TaupÅ is just 35 minutes from central Taupo for eateries, shops, and activities, and in the opposite direction you can visit Turangi in just 10 minutes. For an adventure further afield, jump in the car for 45 minutes and visit the Tongariro National Park and Whakapapa.
