Or, on those mid-year getaways, spark up the fire, nestle into one of the comfy couches, and turn on the TV to watch your favourite show.
A well-equipped kitchen provides everything you’ll need to self-cater your holiday to the lake, and there’s plenty of cupboard space to bring all your favourite foods with you so you don’t have to spend valuable fishing time at the supermarket! There’s also a washing machine and hanging drying rack in the living room for those longer getaways.
Perfect for a lake holiday or fishing trip with your friends, Cedar Cottage comfortably sleeps up to five guests in two bedrooms. And, being just off the living room, the warmth from the fire ensures a toasty place to lay your head.
Cedar Cottage is perfectly positioned on a large section to ensure there is space right around the house to enjoy a game of backyard cricket or footy, not to mention enough room to park the boat, the jetski, and lay down the kayaks!
Tauranga Taupō is a small, yet stunning spot at the mouth of the Tauranga Taupō River on the eastern shore of Lake Taupō. Some say the river has the best fishing in the area, and thanks to its small size, it’s a delight to fish year round. Here at Cedar Cottage, you're only a short walk to the river, so make sure you pack your waders and rods!
There are plenty of beautiful walks near Cedar Cottage, including the loop around stunning Lake Rotopounamu. Take a short stroll down to the lakefront for a sandy beach, safe for children to play and swim. Or, for a different kind of dip, drive just 20 minutes to the hot mineral pools at Tokaanu.
Tauranga Taupō is just 35 minutes from central Taupo for eateries, shops, and activities, and in the opposite direction you can visit Turangi in just 10 minutes. For an adventure further afield, jump in the car for 45 minutes and visit the Tongariro National Park and Whakapapa.
