- Sharon, November 2022Rachael “This was a return trip for us - we were there the same time last year.”
Happy to say this time around it was all sunshine and warm weather and the races were happening - what a great few days! A couple of points we forgot to mention last year, there is no pin to hold the umbrella up and the oven seems to take an awfully long time to cook things - maybe some basic instructions / suggested times / temperatures etc could be provided?
- Rachael, October 2022Dianne “We had an absolutely fantastic holiday, thank you so much.”

- Karl, July 2022Gemma “Lovely home which provided everything we needed.”
Thank you for providing firewood it added to the cosiness and comfort of our stay.
- Gemma, June 2022Leama and Scott “Gorgeous place, had everything we could possibly need.”
Lovely view. Really comfy. Would love to stay again. The kids and the in-laws loved it. A tiny minor issue with the shower head in the main bathroom being loose and falling forward. The TV aerial seems to have a loose connection. Maybe put spaced paving stones on the path to the back door as you can slide a bit on the stones.
- Leama and Scott, June 2022Lyn “Lovely house clean warm and well equipped.”
Unfortunately Wifi was turned off and Bachcare could not solve. Just a niggle for a weekend, but unimpressed that agency did not have ability to provide access. Undermined my faith that they could have dealt with a more serious issue, had we had one

- Rachael, October 2021Frank “The bach itself was great , however the service from batchcare was shocking- they cant respond to emails, phone calls as too busy (despite Auckland being in lockdown) .”
I suggest use someone else.
- Frank, October 2021Thank you for your feedback and we are delighted to hear you enjoyed the Bach. We apologise for the service issues you experienced. Unfortunately, the extended COVID lockdowns have severely impacted our response times, we appreciate your patience and hope to be able to host you again. Bachcare

About the location
Kaikoura is watched over by the majestic mountain ranges that stretch down towards the rugged east coast of the South Island. Kaikoura is most well known for its whale watching opportunities, which attract visitors from across the world. Tours depart Kaikoura to allow visitors the chance to catch glimpses of giant sperm whales, dolphins, fur seals, and the rare royal albatrosses. For those who are more adventurous, there are chances to don a wetsuit and swim with many of the wonderful creatures found on the Kaikoura Coastline. The annual Seafest, held the first weekend in October, is becoming increasingly popular, and attracts more visitors every year. For history buffs, Kaikoura offers the chance to learn about the early whaling and sealing days of the district, as well as Maori History, and a number of historic buildings. There are also a number of walks to explore, one which takes visitors past some spectacular limestone caves, and seal colonies.
