The property

Tucked away in a peaceful cul-de-sac just 25 metres from the golden sands of Snells Beach, Heron’s Hideaway offers front-row seats to the changing tides and a relaxed coastal escape less than an hour from Auckland CBD. This traditional Kiwi bach offers a charming and relaxed getaway with a small footprint and a few quirky features that add to its character. Ideal for couples or small families, it’s a cozy retreat nestled in a peaceful location, just a short stroll from the beach. Inside, you’ll find a blend of classic bach style with some modern conveniences. The layout is unconventional but a practical setup. The living spaces are compact but adequate, perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the natural beauty of the area. Set across two levels and surrounded by native bush and birdlife, this private, three-bedroom retreat is perfect for families or groups of friends. The open-plan living area upstairs flows effortlessly onto a generous deck, where a spa pool, outdoor lounge suite, bean bags and deck chairs await—ideal for soaking up the sun or enjoying a book in the sea breeze. The ground floor space is warm and inviting, complete with a fireplace and fully equipped kitchen for easy holiday living. Meanwhile, the downstairs area is a hit with teens, kids, or extended family—offering a third bedroom, a second bathroom, and a spacious rumpus room with Smart TV, giving everyone their own space to relax. Outside, versatile outdoor space is the entertainers dream—the pizza oven doubles as a BBQ with rotisserie. Cast iron pans, BBQ utensils and wood are all supplied, so you're ready to cook up a feast. It’s an easy stroll to the beach for a swim or paddle, with a nearby playground for the kids. And just a six-minute drive away, Brick Bay Wines and Sculpture Trail offers the perfect blend of wine, art, and culture. Whether you're unwinding with family or reconnecting with friends, Heron’s Hideaway is your perfect slice of coastal comfort in Snells Beach.

Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. One of our team members will contact you if this is required for your booking.

Please note: Bunk beds are not set up by default, but may be made available on request. Please enquire at the time of booking.

Please note that the deck railing does not fully enclose the space, and there is an internal staircase, so toddlers require guide and supervision.

“Great setting and really enjoyed our stay.”

Just a few minor concerns that wouldn’t take too much to resolve. Those include some of the dish ware was dirty so had to wash. TV isn’t easy to use and oven doesn’t reach correct temperature easily and ceiling on lower floor bedroom needs repair. Otherwise everything else was great thanks
