Catherine “A charming, well equipped cottage with character, close to beaches and the centre of town.”
It is a realistic experience of New Zealand residential living, with single glazed windows, thin walls and music from the neighbours at all hours, which might come as a surprise to some overseas visitors.

Sonia “My family and I had a lovely holiday in this bach.”
It has everything you need, comfortable beds, cooking facilities, good shower, laundry. I loved reading on the front porch. Fabulous that we were allowed to bring along our dog. We noticed how clean everything was. Also enjoyed catching up on a bit of Netflix. Highly recommend the bush walks on Mt Taranaki and the lovely walk around Lake Rotokare.

Wonderful and would definitely recommend this property, somewhere in the bathroom to put clothes while in the shower would be our only critique
- Irene, May 2023Tania “The cottage was amazing.”
There were loads of thoughtful touches (sun umbrella/beanbags for outside/bikes etc). We loved it and were extremely impressed. It was a great location, handy to town and very clean. In summary, it was a lovely cottage and we would definitely book it again.
- Tania, January 2023Derdriu “We loved our stay at 4 Kingwell St.”
The property was perfect for a family of 4 with a dog in tow. House was well equipped, the location for the Costal walkway was great and beds were super comfy.
- Derdriu, January 2023Jenni “Thank you for having to stay.”
The cottage was lovely. Warm and sunny, cute and cosy. We would love to book it again when we come to the garden festival next year. We enjoyed some lovely walks by the sea and the restaurant we visited was an easy walk away. Will recommend to friends.
- Jenni, November 2022Lynn “We were disappointed with the booking as it didn't give details of exactly what we were paying for.”
It said about us taking linen and yet when we got there it was supplied. We couldn't get the light's to work in the bathroom. Otherwise it was pleasant.
- Lynn, October 2022Mark “Great place and convenient quiet location.”
Back yard well fenced for medium sized, non jumping dog.

- Chris, July 2022Russell “We had a great stay thanks.”
Everything you need was available and central to everything we needed. Great that the backyard was secure and fenced. Fantastic for our little dogs. Nice and warm house with good heating. Will definitely be coming back to stay when we are down next. Thank you .

- Catherine, June 2022Brett “Great historic cottage close walking distance to breakwater and coastal walkway.”
Dog friendly with fully fenced back yard - perfect !
- Brett, June 2022Tamsin “Beautiful cosy and well-appointed home with lots of character and history.”
Perfect as a family base for a holiday, or (in our case) as a home away from home in difficult times. Two living areas inside and a back deck meant plenty of space for everyone to spread out. One-touch gas heater made for snuggly mornings, linen and furnishings are well-chosen, and house has books, games and good internet.
- Tamsin, May 2022anna “This is a gorgeous little villa in a lovely quiet spot about 3 mins bike ride away from the coastal path closer to tue Port end.”
The beds are super comfy, kitchen is perfect for a holiday and access to the washing machine a bonus especially with children. Highly recommend.
- anna, April 2022Jessica “Absolutely everything you could want or need in a stay over.”
Everything provided down to milk in the fridge. Could not fault the place, absolutely lovely cottage!
- Jessica, March 2022Paul “A great pet friendly place that was clean and comfortable and had everthing we needed.”
