    “We had a lovely stay at 77 Goldfinch - Only a few things we would like to call out for improvement: 1) There were a lot of cobwebs on windows around curtains and under the bath - I don't think the cleaner has been very thorough with this.”

    Also things were quite dusty - think the blankets need a bit of airing and the curtains cleaned/dusted. 2) There was no grater - this made a few meals frustrating for us so would really recommend adding this as well as some more cooking utensils. 3) The TV remote batteries were dead - thankfully we technical enough that we downloaded an app on our phones to be able to still use the TV. Other than the above the home was beautiful! Nice and spacious, very clean other than those small things ...

Perfect location to be close to all the things to do and the best part was the AMAZING water pressure in the showers :) And we particularly loved the chicken that came to visit everyday - the kids named her Miss Nugget <3

Bedroom 4 offers the perfect spot for the kids to kick back and relax - with a TV in the room to keep them entertained for hours. Stay on-site and bask in the uninterrupted mountain views from the sun-drenched deck or head out on an adventure. There is easy access to the slopes with Whakapapa 45 mins away and Turoa just 20 minutes drive. Head into Ohakune town, only 5 minutes drive and explore the local shops and cafes or catch the shuttle to hike the Tongariro Crossing. The Goldfinch Retreat welcomes you!

Ohakune is the ski capital for the North Island and your gateway to all the iconic features of the Ruapehu region. Perfectly based to jet off to the Bridge to Nowhere, the Tongariro Crossing or one of the many stunning alpine walks or mountain bike trails, it's a true haven for your next adventure. It's well worth the four and a half hour drive from Auckland or 90 minutes from Taupo in Winter or Summer! All of our Ohakune holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
