Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

The property

Railside Chalet is a welcoming three-bedroom, two-bathroom holiday home nestled in the peaceful settlement of Raurimu, just an eight-minute drive north of Waimarino (National Park Village). With fully carpeted interiors and rustic pine ceilings, the chalet exudes a warm, inviting atmosphere - the perfect base for your Ruapehu adventure. The open-plan kitchen, lounge, and dining area is the heart of the home, complete with a heat pump and woodburner to keep you cosy in every season. Entertainment is easy with Wi-Fi, Freeview TV, a selection of DVDs, and a variety of games including Monopoly, Scrabble, and playing cards. Outside, a barbecue area with a large picnic table makes relaxed alfresco meals a delight. Sleeping up to six guests, Railside Chalet is designed for comfort and flexibility. The main bedroom features an ensuite and an adjoining study/dressing room - ideal for quiet time or remote work. A second bathroom and separate toilet are conveniently located near the remaining two bedrooms, making it easy for families or groups to spread out. For active getaways, practical features include a lock-up bike shed and a secure drying room for boots, skis, and snowboards, complete with a tumble dryer - so all your gear is ready for the next day’s adventures. Adding to its unique charm, the famous spiral railway line runs along the bottom of the property, a highlight for history and rail enthusiasts. Adventure is never far away, with Whakapapa Ski Field just 16 minutes’ drive, Turoa less than an hour, and the Sky Waka gondola only 16 minutes. In summer, enjoy cycling and walking tracks, rafting, and the renowned Tongariro Crossing. Please be aware that there is a small running stream located behind the property which is unfenced. Extra care should be taken especially with children.
