Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

Get the real Kiwiana family bach experience at Matapōuri Magic. This classic Kiwi bach has remained in the same family since it was built in the 1950s. With warm wooden flooring, multicoloured kitchen cupboards and genuine 70s cane furnishings, this quirky family bach provides a classic kiwi summer experience. Initially built as a single-room cabin, it was added on to in the 1960s to incorporate three cosy bedrooms, a blue-tile bathroom and separate utility laundry. At the same time, the upstairs open-plan lounge was added, which showcases impressive floor-to-ceiling views that stretch out over the sparkling waters of Matapōuri Bay. Still enjoyed by new generations of the family, Matapōuri Magic is the real deal Kiwiana experience. Just steps from the beach, this light-filled bach will have you settling into relaxation mode from the moment you arrive. The lower level features an original eat-in kitchen, which flows to two spacious decks, both front and back of the house, allowing you to enjoy the full-day sun. Spend warm evenings sipping your favourite drink on the stylish outdoor furniture, or whip up a classic Kiwi feast on the BBQ then dine alfresco. There's no need to pack a picnic when you're spending your days this close to the beach! Just slap on some sunscreen and head down to the glistening water for some fun in the sun, then pop back for lunch! With a fully fenced front and back yard perfect for kids and pets, parents can enjoy an afternoon of leisure whilst children play in the expansive grassy yard any time of the day. With boogie boards, sun umbrellas and a small library of books and board games at the ready, there is no shortage of things to do. If you want to pick up some supplies or treat the family to ice cream on a hot afternoon, it’s just a quick six-minute walk or a one-minute drive to the local Matapōuri Bay store, where you can also get your fill of fish and chips! Matapōuri Magic has space to sleep six guests across three cosy, ground-floor bedrooms. The double bedrooms have been updated to accommodate floor-to-ceiling wardrobes perfect for all your personal storage needs. Each room is also equipped with a cooling fan to make sure that you're comfortable, day and night. The stairs also have a child gate to ensure you and your family's safety. About the location

A 10-minute drive from Tutukaka or a 2 hour 25 minute drive from Auckland and you'll find yourself in the marine paradise that is Matapouri. Matapouri is one of those idyllic spots, where every corner you turn you'll find yourself in awe as you stumble upon another azure blue cove lined with Pohutukawa or golden dunes. There's much to explore with Whale Bay nearby being accessed via a 15 minute bush walk, and of course the legendary mermaid pools a large natural set of rock pools set against the ocean perfect for swimming in at low tide.
