Linen

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

The property

With majestic lake and mountain views in an idyllic spot your family will love, you’ll want to come back to Frankton House! Awake each morning to a stunning vista from your bedroom and enjoy a cuppa on the deck. Open wide the lounge sliding doors to let the fresh air in while you relax on the outdoor furniture or cook in the fully equipped kitchen, providing everything you need to self-cater your stay, as well as handy extras including a rice cooker and baking trays. Take a stroll along the edge of Lake Wakatipu, or simply relax in your holiday-home with Wi-Fi, TV, air-conditioning heat pumps and heater panels. This comfortable four-bedroom, two-bathroom holiday home across several levels can sleep up to eight people. Bedding includes two queen beds, and four singles. Access is via a steep shared driveway where there is a single garage space available for use, and an additional off-street car park. With fully stocked kitchen and laundry facilities, you’ll have everything you need. This accommodation sits close to the middle of the 10km long Frankton Arm Walkway track that follows the lake edge between the recreation reserve and marina to the east, (with brewery and café), and to downtown Queenstown to the west. With close to a five-minute drive either to the town CBD, or else the airport, this is a great destination to relax and explore in equal measure. You can also make the most of public transport as there is a bus stop just a two-minute walk away on Frankton Road. There may be snow on the peaks, but Frankton House will welcome you warmly!


Guests should take care when accessing the property as there is a steep driveway.

    “The house does appear as listed - though it should be clear this is a condo, not a house.”

    The driveways are steep, one of the parking spaces is on a very steep hill, and the other is in a garage. If you are bringing bikes, the garage wont be big enough for your vehicle (it was too small for either of our vehicles even without the bikes), so then you have to go hunting quite far away for a safe car park. Since the house sleeps 8, it is of course reasonable that you have brought 2 cars. For us, everything was as pictured. However, there were facility and maitenance problems the owners ...

However, there were facility and maitenance problems the owners should be aware of: the tub in the primary bedroom barely drains, so we had to stand in shin deep water while we showered. The shape of the tub also makes keeping water off the slick tile floor very difficult. Our son took a good whack on the ground, so beware. The interior doors could use a spot of grease, we all woke up anytime someone needed to use the toilet in the night. Speaking of the toilet, we weren't supplied enough toilet paper for 6 people for 4 nights. Also, I dont know if it was just us, but despite following the provided advice for the washing machine, we absolutely could not get our clothes clean. It seemed to shuffle the dirt into the creases. The dishwasher is leaking a small amount of waste water on to the floor during the wash cycle. It wasnt a big deal, but annoying. In general we also found the cleaning rules to be very strict (wipe down every placemat after use, etc.) considering the robust cleaning fee we paid. On the plus side, the views are as beautiful as pictured and the walking track is very handy, if one has the time it's a 30 min walk to QT or 20 minutes to the Frankton marina. Central Otago in the fall was as beautiful as ever! The carpet appears new and clean which was a huge perk, as holiday houses often have grimy and gross carpets. So we really appreciated this! Linens were clean.

The draining tub is now working, though it drains slowly, and the door will be oiled during the owner’s next visit to reduce noise.
