About the location
Located around 1 and ½ hours from Christchurch traffic, Methven is the centre point to 9 ski fields in Canterbury, with the well known Mt Hutt only 40 mins away. If you're not a skier or snowboarder there's still many reasons to visit this stunning town. With Mountain biking tracks close by, horse trekking, 4WD high country adventures and even hot air ballooning there's something for everyone. “We loved staying at Thimble cottage, such a cute and cozy place.”
We were surprised by how spacious the place is, all rooms were a good size. Beds were all super comfy. The linen was all so fresh and new. The laundry room is perfect for drying out ski gear. Can't wait to go back next year. Can't speak highly enough of Thimble cottage.
