Ohakune is the ski capital for the North Island and your gateway to all the iconic features of the Ruapehu region. Perfectly based to jet off to the Bridge to Nowhere, the Tongariro Crossing or one of the many stunning alpine walks or mountain bike trails, it's a true haven for your next adventure. It's well worth the four and a half hour drive from Auckland or 90 minutes from Taupo in Winter or Summer! “The cottage has some great amenities - hot tub, two bathrooms, and comfortable beds.”
But the general grubiness and lack of cleaning of surfaces, kitchen items, floors etc lets the whole home down. There was a dead mouse next to the fridge, which while maybe not unusual in a rural location, if the house had been cleaned recently or inspected would have been noticed. Shower had 5 hairs in it, surfaces in bedrooms hadn’t been wiped, kitchen floor and cupboards were dirty when we got there. All of the chopping boards had visible chunks of food on them, having been put away dirty, ...

Also the internet box is on the wall in a bedroom and casts a bright blue light across the room. It’s unfortunate as with a proper deep clean I’d happily recommend the home
