Irene “The only glitch was getting the wrong lockbox code but that was quickly remedied on ringing the 0800 number.”
The property was in a great location and we enjoyed watching the bird life on the lake while we ate breakfast on the deck.

It was everything that was advertised and we were very comfortable. We found the microwave was not working, however we did leave a note about this. We had Canadian guests with us and they were very impressed

- Graham, February 2023Jamie “The door handle got jammed and we couldn't unlock the front door, and therefore had to use the ranch-slider when we went out, which we couldn't lock up behind us!”
Apparently this is an ongoing issue that should be resolved permanently.

The property
A classic cottage, a cosy home and a charming little lakefront retreat all rolled into one. The Lake Bach is ready to host your holiday. This two-bedroom Ngongataha holiday home sits right alongside the Western edge of Lake Rotorua overlooking the water, and is surrounded by a generous sheltered section. Come summer or winter, The Lake Bach captures the essence of a fuss-free traditional holiday by the water. With rich wood panelling throughout and vintage style furnishings, this home has a real log cabin vibe, tying in perfectly with its surroundings. From the combined kitchen and dining room you can look through the lounge and out the ranch slider, straight across to the water. So whether you're soaking up the sun on the sundeck or having brunch with the family, there is a view to help inspire the day's activities. The large lawn area is not only perfect for backyard cricket, shaded picnics under the trees, or a good place for the kids to run around, it's also ideal if you plan to bring and park the boat. The local boat ramp is in Reem Street; just 2 minutes drive away. For some local fishing, you must visit Waiteti Stream, a 2-minute walk. When you get home, throw the fresh catch on the BBQ! The local Ngongotaha Village is nearby and offers a grocery store, a couple of cafes, a liquor store and even a butchery! This region is part of the adventure capital of the North Island, and there are plenty of exciting places to check out, such as Zorb, Zipline, Rainbow Springs, or the Redwoods Forest. A calming lakefront holiday awaits here at The Lake Bach!
As the property has direct access to the lake, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.
All guests should take extra care on the deck as there is no barrier to prevent falls with a small drop on to grass.
