About the location

Masterton is the largest town in the Wairarapa, and acts as the service centre for the region. Masterton is home to The New Zealand Shear Discovery Centre, which celebrates the value of wool to the New Zealand economy and culture, and is the home of the International Golden Shear Competition, which has been held in Masterton for nearly 50 years.
