Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

Nest by the Beach is a welcoming three-bedroom holiday home with a separate sleepout and attached ensuite, perfectly positioned in beautiful Cooks Beach. Bright, colourful, and packed with holiday charm, this relaxed coastal retreat offers everything you need for your next Coromandel escape. Inside, the main house features a warm and cosy open-plan living area where everyone can come together after a day of exploring. The well-equipped kitchen includes a handy breakfast bar, making holiday meals and morning coffees a breeze. Two comfortable bedrooms are located in the main house, while the separate sleepout provides additional privacy and space, complete with its own bathroom featuring a shower, handbasin, and a step down into the toilet area. Open the bifold doors and step out onto the spacious sun-soaked deck, the ideal spot for summer BBQs, alfresco dining, and relaxing with family and friends. The large garden offers plenty of room for backyard games, while ample off-street parking and boat parking make it easy to bring all your holiday gear. Keen boaties and anglers will love being just two minutes from the Purangi Estuary boat ramp. A leisurely five-minute stroll takes you to the golden sands of Cooks Beach, perfect for swimming, beach walks, and family fun. From here, you're also within easy driving distance of some of the Coromandel's most iconic destinations, including Cathedral Cove, Hahei, and Hot Water Beach. Perfect size for us, 4 adults & I child. Comfortable furniture both indoor and outdoor, nice well equipped kitchen. This was our 2nd stay here, the first stay was so good we came back but this time the overall experience was not so enjoyable due to the property next door (number 15) being a party house for the weekend. Friday wasn't too bad but Saturday was noisy until very late. Not the fault of our property owners but definitely put a damper on our family weekend away.

A great location, only a short walk to the beach, the estuary - and also walking distance to the shops. The house is small, however you don’t notice this with the large sleep out and outdoor area. We have stayed twice now and hope to do so again next year!

“The water wasn’t turned on upon our arrival.”

Some phone calls rectified this but the switch wasn’t accessible without further instructions. Luckily the cleaning lady called us back to advise within the hour. As the power was off the oven didn’t work and we had no way of knowing a reset procedure, until a couple of days later and asking a neighbour. There were cobwebs around the walls particularly in the bedrooms and under the beds. A disconcerting find under a bed was a large framed “glamour shot” of presumably the owner. Not quite what one would expect. I have no further comment on that. BBQ non functioning and no gas bottle anyway. No internet, but we should have checked prior to booking with hindsight. The house is in a good location and comfortable in general. We appreciated being able to take our dog aswell.

“This would be a great place to stay if it were to be given a thorough clean.”

I appreciate the opportunity to share our experiences with whoever is in charge of this bach, please direct this review to the right person. I can supply photos. The bach was generally dirty although the kitchen and bathroom surfaces had been cleaned. There was detritus under the living room furniture that had clearly been accumulating for some time. The inside of the folding door was smeared with dirt. There was a dirty glass lying on the floor in the corner of one of the bedrooms. The dishwasher did not work well, and it was obvious that dishes etc had been through it and then put away with food still stuck to them. We cleaned up the worst and either worked around or ignored the rest of the issues as we were determined to enjoy our time together, and we did. 10 out of 10 for location. We had already paid a cleaning fee, if the owners are paying a cleaner they would be wise to go and have a look at the bach. The owners should also be informed that the garage has a serious leak, the carpet in there is sodden and a very musty odour permeates the garage including the outside bedroom attached to the garage. Mould is developing in that bedroom.
