The property

Oyster Bach is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom traditional Cooks Beach bach. Located just a 5 minute walk from the beach, this is an ideal spot for a beach break! This basic Cooks Beach bach has an open plan lounge and dining space with the kitchen located off this area. The living space flows out on to a large sunny deck, perfect for summer stays! Upstairs at this Cooks Beach accommodation there are 2 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is fitted with a queen bed and bedroom 2 is fitted with 2 single beds. The third bedroom is located downstairs and is fitted with 1 queen bed, and the lounge has an additional single pull out bed. There is no internal access between floors at this property. A bathroom on each level completes the set up. Enjoy days at the beach, or simply relaxing on the deck in the sun. For a relaxing Cooks Beach break, Oyster Bach awaits!

Please note that the house at the front of this property is permanently occupied.

The lower level of this property has external access only.

Smoking is allowed outside only.

There is one kayak available to use but guests must bring their own life-jackets to gain access to this.

This place is perfect for families so much room and great location easy walk to beach which is a awesome place for swimming everything is well thought of here when it comes to family's traveling with kids even the deck has a gate to keep children safe from going down the stairs not to mention the use of bikes and kayak we loved it here and will definitely go back

“Great location, beds are comfy.”

It's an old house but well maintain. The only remarks will be that they changed the set up of the ground floor, there is no tennis table and it's not bunk bed any more but two single beds with big couchand tv. Would be great to update the pictures. The new set up is great tho but can be disappointing for kids. Other than that was a great stay.

“Nice batch.”

Perfect for a beach break. Close to beach and boat ramp and nice and quiet. Only thing I would recommend is some security stays on the windows so windows can be left open when out to stop the house getting too hot. In particular the window in the bedroom with the 2 single beds had nothing preventing it from being opened up wide and it was a 3 meter drop onto concrete from the second floor. We felt this was a safety issue when small children (under 5's) were sleeping in that bedroom. A couple of security stays would solve this though.

“A typical Kiwi bach, roomy, within walking distance of the beach.”

Keeping bugs at bay can be a bit of a challenge. Good beds apart from one bunk requiring a couple of slats. Small kitchen, basic contents, one drawer needs attention.

“The property is very typical of a classic Cooks Beach bach, it is nice and spacious with a big wrap around deck which is perfect for summer.”

It is a short 6 minute walk to the beach and very close to the estuary which was great. The bach was well stocked with cleaning products and all the necessary amenities needed for our two week holiday. The bach was tidy and organised on arrival however there were areas that weren't particularly clean, there were a lot of cobwebs, dust, and bugs in the bathrooms as well a fair bit of hair on the bathroom floors. The oven was not the cleanest and the trays needed to be washed before use, halfway through our stay when we went to use the BBQ for the first time we discovered it was filthy and unusable with a completely empty gas bottle. As well as this we discovered multiple other issues with the bach, the master bedroom light wasn't working on arrival, nearly all the curtains are hanging off their tracks or broken in some way, cupboards in the kitchen are broken and hanging off, the downstairs bottom bunk had multiple slats broken, we later discovered the same issue with one of the upstairs beds (it was unusable so we had to fix it ourselves), the washing machine filter was full of gunk and needed to be cleaned out before use. Overall the bach was okay and we did enjoy our two week holiday, however for the price we paid and compared to other similar style properties we have stayed at in Cooks Beach we were disappointed. We would of expected the bach to be cleaner on arrival, and there are a handful of pretty simple maintenance jobs that could of been done to make the property more inviting and comfortable for guests.

“Overall the house is situated in a nice place.”

Quiet neighborhood and near the beach. Beach is 6mins walk only. The house needs a good clean and sprayed for bugs. The dishes and cutlery needs to be changed or washed well. There is no dishwasher so probably that why as people who visit might not wash it properly.

“The owners need to seriously maintain their home.”

The following things need to be fixed: Front sliding door wouldn’t open with key. Inside the locks were tapped . TV in Lounge not going. Curtains hanging off the rails in Bedroom. Back room curtains Mouldy Hot water cyclinder cupboard downstairs had to be prized open to turn on Barbique very dirty and out of gas.Had to go get gas bottle. We had to ask the man next how to turn the water on.( no instructions) TV remote had terribly corroded batteries. Had to buy new ones. The water failed completely and we had to be moved to another property. Your website needs to be updated. No Kayak or table tennis. It also portrays a better looking property with the pictures. On arrival we were very disappointed with the property.
