    “Quaint and mint condition old-school Lockwood home, it had everything we needed during our stay and was somewhat clean enough.”

    Location is great and on a quiet street. Would suggest removing the bike pictures from the listing as we initially thought there were bikes available to use from the property, and maybe install a dishwasher as some dishes were not as necessarily as clean as they could’ve been from previous renters perhaps. But overall enjoyed our stay :)

For perfect year-round temperatures, throw on the heat pump to warm up or cool down as needed. At the end of the day relax in the outdoor area fitted with a outdoor pit, with a cold drink and fire up the BBQ for dinner. Make the most of this location on a quiet cul-de-sac, opposite a grassed reserve, adjacent to the Pauanui camping ground. A leisurely 2- minute stroll to the water's edge, for days on the beach. 500m to the wharf, boat ramp and the ocean beach. Pauanui town is less than 10 minutes drive where you can explore the local shops and cafes. Gumhill Escape welcomes you for a low-key beach break!

As there is an unfenced access to an estuary in the back garden, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water

About the location

Just over 2 hours from Auckland, Pauanui is one of the most popular holiday towns in the Coromandel. Pauanui enjoys white sand beaches with a surf life saving club and a number of walking tracks including the Mount Pauanui summit track, which will give you stunning views of the coastline and out to the Mercury Islands.
