“We had very loud tree frogs in the roof space making it impossible to stay in the living room in the evenings.”
We had to go out for meals and then go straight to bed. The beds were too soft to sleep comfortably. 4 TV remotes left us confused with a note saying " do not adjust TV settings " and therefore afraid to touch them. Not that we could have sat and watched TV anyway with the noise of the frogs.

We understand how disruptive that can be and have been able to investigate this matter further. We would like to mention that there are no cavities in the roofing of the property and that tree frogs are not very common this time of season in New Zealand. This would have been the sound of the native crickets during your stay although they were not quite the expected guest! Regarding the beds, we appreciate your input and can understand that the softness of the mattresses may not be accommodating to all guests. We also apologise for the confusion with the TV remotes. All TV remotes have clear labelling on them to identify the function of each remote and there is an instruction sheet included. Robyn “We always love spending time at Norma’s place.”
Have stayed on 3 occasions over the last 2 years. We chose it as it is close to family (our reason for coming to Whitianga) The proximity to the beach, views out over the water and stunning sun rises are magical.

There was moldy rooted biscuits under cupboards all which I took photos of . The mold was so bad in the toilet that I quickly wiped the walls . Once again amazing location but very unhealthy to stay in very sad to sew such potential wasted .

We got the linen package which was well worth the money. It’s an older house but has every you could need for a beach break. Looking forward to coming back

Charlotte “Property was in a perfect location, loved the ocean views from the bedrooms and lounge.”
We could have done with a few more towels for the stay, there is no dryer and we had quite a bit of rain during the trip so we couldn't dry the ones we had. There is quite a bit of damage at the end of the garden due to the cyclone and it was dangerous for the kids to get to the beach from the garden but the lovely chap that owns the Bach next door let us use his access and brand new steps :)

The perfect place to stay, so close to the beach. Lots of light and lots of sliding doors and windows to smell the salt air. Walks on the beach, swimming and fishing. Everything here for a great holiday. 10/10.

It is a comfortable, well equipped house in a stunning location. The sheltered deck was perfect on windy days, and the kids loved the rope swing on the front lawn. We appreciated being able to put up the sun umbrella on the beach too.

Really enjoyed the close by a beautiful beach and what it has to offer. you are waking up to the beautiful side of the beach every morning and the deck is so private. But we would really appreciate more cleaning has been done and check stuff before handing over to us. we had to end up doing lots of cleaning prior to letting our kids touch the floor. I would really recommend this location to anyone. To us, prefer to pick a different place around the same area next time.

There is a good shower and new appliances. The beach-front location is great, and only a few minutes drive from Whitianga. We would stay there again. Ian Jack

Kids enjoyed playing sports on the beach and building sand castles didnt have to pack the kids and car wake up every morning to the beautiful site of the beach enjoyed breakfast on the deck so private highly recommend to all.

The property
Norma's Place is beachfront 3 bedroom Simpsons Beach Bach. Located right on the beach, this classic kiwi bach is the perfect spot for a summer getaway! This Simpsons Beach bach has an open plan living space including lounge, dining and kitchen. The lounge opens out onto sheltered decking with stunning views to the water. Each of the 3 bedrooms at this Simpsons Beach bach are located off a central hallway. Bedroom 1 is fitted with a queen bed, and bedrooms 2 and 3 are each fitted with 2 single beds. Bedrooms 1 and 2 open out on to the sheltered sun deck. A family bathroom, with separate toilet, complete the set up. Enjoy a traditional kiwi beach holiday at this absolute beachfront bach!
As the property has unfenced access to the beach, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water
