“Generally we had a great stay, the place is comfortable, clean, modern, great living space and ideal location for town and the lake etc.”
Negatives would be, we purchased food to have a bbq on the first night, went to use the bbq and it was filthy, rusty, falling apart, not fit for use at all. It needs to be replaced or taken off the listing. So that was quite disappointing. Another would be, we LOVED having the pool !! But a couple pool towels would have been really handy, and if not then just maybe a mention on the ad that they're not provided. And finally, there is lots of random food/sauces in the cupboards with expiration dates from yearssss ago so maybe just some general maintenance would be good.- Katie, February 2023

Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Modern and clean. Easy walk to the shops/ restaurants. Felt like we were in a resort with the swimming pool which we did use. Fantastic views from the lounge - bonus that it was Guy Fawkes as we could watch fireworks going off in the park across the river and in the distance. For feedback - it should be emphasised more in the ‘blurb’ that it is located in the Watermark apartment complex as we couldn’t easily identify the way in from the road! There were also several dirty (as in still had coffee or chocolate sitting in them) mugs in the cupboard . We managed to lock ourselves out as we had taken the garage fob with us and not the door key. Despite having worked earlier, the fob battery was dead and we had to buy another battery in order to get back in! Only minor issues, all good otherwise. Thank you.- Heather, October 2022

“The apartment is nice, however not suitable for the elderly as it has too many stairs.”
Two of the three bedrooms face a busy road and its impossible to get any sleep with cars going past throughout the night. Gets worse in the morning with lots more traffic. Overall the condition of the apartment was good, albeit some maintenance issues. Which we did not think a lot about since were out most of the time. We left the property as we found it, cleaning was included which made it a bit easy. However 9 days after checking out we received notification form bachcare that the owners were claiming we damaged the property. Despite us denying that we caused any damage bachcare charged our card for these costs. Calling the claims number at bachcare was of no use as it always goes to voicemail and no one calls you back. We have a few email replies but despite having no evidence bachcare seems to taking the owners side. No even talking to us or refunding back our money.- Ravikesh, August 2022

“We stayed together with family members, the apartment was clean and well equipped and very nice.”
It worked well for two couples and a child, the living area is well set up with a big sectional couch so plenty of room for all of us. The bathrooms were good, with good showers. We enjoyed our stay and would happily stay there again.- Jan, July 2021

Nice outlook over the boat harbour and excellent location. Some road noise, only really noticeable at night if you are a light sleeper. Stairs are long and quite steep - would be a challenge for people with limited mobility.- Sandra, December 2019

24 Marina View Retreat is a well appointed executive 3 bedroom Taupo holiday apartment.
Conveniently located in a secure gated complex, just minutes walking distance from Taupo town centre, marina or boat ramp. This stylish 3 level Taupo holiday home boasts all the comforts you need for a relaxing holiday or activity escape. 24 Marina View Retreat includes a garage, 9.5m in length, on the lower level with laundry facilities and internal access.
There are 2 spacious bedrooms and bathroom/ensuite on the middle level, and open plan living area with well equipped kitchen, a third double bedroom and bathroom on the top level. You will also enjoy access to the private courtyard with barbeque and a shared swimming pool (heated from Oct-Easter) on site.
Guest parking is also available. Bedroom 1 at this Taupo apartment is located on the middle level and comprises a queen bed and a comfortable sofa bed.
For ultra comfort there is also a TV.
This spacious bedroom leads onto a paved patio (with street access) where you can soak up the sun or dine alfresco. Bedroom 2 on the middle level has a king size bed and a TV.
Each of the middle level bedrooms is serviced by the main bathroom which is also an ensuite for the second bedroom.
There is also a rollaway bed which can be placed in bedrooms 1 or 2 to accommodate an additional guest. The comfortable open plan living area situated on the top level comprises floor to ceiling windows providing elevated views over the river, marina and lake.
A heat pump/air conditioning unit is fitted for comfort in both the summer and winter months.
Located off the living area is an additional bathroom with a shower.
Adjacent to this is bedroom 3 which has a queen bed and this room opens onto a small balcony. Electric blankets are fitted on all of the beds.
There is also a portacot, highchair and babygate available. When you feel like heading out, you are just a 5 minute stroll from Taupo central restaurants, cafes, supermarket and local amenities.
There is also a riverside market every Saturday morning for those looking for a leisurely activity just a couple of minutes walk away. If you are boating, skiing, cycling/biking, tramping, fishing, or experiencing some of the many activities/events in the region or just looking to relax and unwind...
You will find everything you need for your next Taupo getaway at 24 Marina View Retreat! May not be suitable for young children and very elderly people.
The shared swimming pool is heated to 26 degrees between 1st October to the last week of the first term of the school year. Please remember to bring your own pool towels as they are not provided.
Please note that there are 2 designated carparks in the garage and limited shared parking onsite, additional cars will need to park in side streets close by. All trailers are either to be parked in the garage or on street outside of the complex, due to limited shared parking.
