Gate took a little bit to find - the naighbour across the way yelled out to help! But we loved the walk down to the beach. Kids room was great - we may have unearthed the Lego from the cupboard… We had a great stay thanks. No dishwasher was a sign of a classic kiwi bach. Only complaint was possibly the main bed having a bit of a roll towards the middle.

The access could be better as it isn't clear that we had to walk down a public walkway to access a side gate onto the property before we could gain access to the house. (One has to park on one side of the house and go around to the other to find the key). May I suggest a lock box with a key inside for access on the side of the car park? Other than that. Perfect for our short stay. Thanks.

Having the owners belongings in the wardrobe and kitchen was weird. Nice and close to the beach but perhaps should only be available in summer. We didn't stay the second night even though we had paid for it as it was freezing inside. Would appreciate a refund.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the heating options - the bach has two heaters one is in the main bedroom in the wardrobe and the other is the infrared TVO heater on a stand in the lounge. There are now instructions on how to operate the heaters left at the house so that future guests have a better experience. We spent a lot of time lounging on the deck, the coolest place to be in the hot weather. The house was well set up with everything we needed. It was next to a walkway and just a 5 minute walk to beautiful Omaha beach. Highly recommended.

The one small comment would be that at first it fealt a little uncomfortable with the owners clothes in the wardrobes and food in the larder, but other than that the place was fine and would use again.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. We’ll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
The Hideaway accommodation is a bright 2 bedroom Omaha holiday home. Located a short walk (2 mins) from the beach, this Omaha home offers all the comforts for a relaxing holiday away! This Omaha accommodation provides two bedrooms; the first is fitted with one queen bed and the second is fitted with two king singles, that can be pushed together to make a king bed. There is also a single mattress available for guest use underneath one of the single beds in bedroom 2. To complete the setting, there is also a sofa bed in the lounge. There is one bathroom that includes a bath - lay back and relax after a day exploring the local scenery! The open living area flows out onto a generous sized sun deck; the perfect spot to relax in the sun or enjoy a BBQ. Situated on a level walkway to the spectacular white sandy beach, this Omaha accommodation is in an ideal location right by the beach! Close by are the calm waters of the Whangateau Estuary; ideal for water skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, and shellfish gathering. The Hideaway is a great spot for diving with plenty of marine life, the marine reserve at Goats Island provides fantastic snorkeling! There are several wineries, restaurants, and cafe's just a short drive away, plus all of the local amenities are in close proximity. Come and enjoy a wonderful summer getaway at The Hideaway!!

Just an 8-minute drive from Matakana is the long stretch of a white sandy surf beach that is Omaha. This is a great area to base yourself from, located within a short drive to all the gems of the area such as Snells beach, Sandspit, Campbell's Beach and Tawharanui National Park. The best place to be in Omaha is certainly beachside, watching surfers battle the waves or taking a dip in one of the calmer areas yourself. All of our Omaha holiday homes are pre-inspected prior to your arrival and are ready for instant online booking.
