“We really enjoyed our stay here!”
so grateful we got upgraded to the grey straw house. There were minor issues such as the kitchen sink having no cold water coming through, but otherwise we felt very comfortable with the beds, the sauna and the spa was awesome for my family and I. Daphne was a pleasure to deal with when we had a blackout and the house alarm kept playing up, she made sure any issues we had were sorted asap. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family.

. Firewood and matches seemed to be wet so they did not light, we reached the place late at night so could not go and get more firewood and matches until next day. Sauna did not get too hot, it was just like a warm stream or may be we did not know how to operate it but we tried al number but it did not get hot. Only 1 heater works, other one not as effective. Heating needs to be worked at. May be more heaters and dry wood and enough matchsticks will help. Otherwise beautiful house and great location.

Cookware / dishes & BBQ needed a lot of cleaning. We had great time with friends but the hand cleaning needed (dish washer runs but doesn't clean a thing) was disappointing as you don't want to do all that on a holiday.

Although we didn't have much snow during our stay and had a heaps of rain instead, we enjoyed the space and played loads of games. A good place to stay catering for a group of 11 people.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. Weâll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.
The property
A divine holiday home set in the quaint Ruapehu village of Rangataua, it is your perfect winter destination or summer getaway. A simple 5-minute drive to the friendly town of Ohakune and gateway to Tongariro National Park which hosts Turoa and Whakapapa ski fields. The famous World Heritage site boasts beautiful walking and cycling tracks, fishing streams, lakes and rivers. This charming warm eco-friendly home has a modern and well-equipped open plan kitchen/dining and living area opening out onto a large deck. The central wood burner in the lounge area has a connected air circulation system that effectively warms the whole house in those colder months. It also hosts complimentary WIFI, three flat-screen smart TVs, and ample off-street parking. Off the long hallway are two bathrooms with showers, two separate toilets, and a spacious drying/laundry room fitted with modern appliances. Each of the four double glazed bedrooms opens onto the deck and is set in configurations of two twin single rooms and a quad with a double and single bunk bed, and one separate single perfect for the kids. The spacious master room opens onto the beautiful private outdoor area, together the rooms allow for a maximum of ten people to comfortably stay. Made from straw bales this unique house also has a wonderful large private outdoor decked area to enjoy and cook in including a family-sized gas BBQ, and a large rustic outdoor fire pit to sit around and roast marshmallows. Nestled close by is a private oasis with a beautiful cedar barrel sauna and a large deluxe alpine spa to unwind in.
