“While we enjoy returning to this cottage, there are a couple of things which need attention: The lawns need a decent mowing.”
The kikuyu near the front fence is about half a metre high. The red rubbish bin is disintegrating so needs replacement. The electric jug is plastic so over time has got to the stage that it affects the taste of the water. Its switch is also intermittent. Replacement needed that's not plastic. There was a large cobweb on the side panel of the bookcase and cupboards. On the plus side: The beds were well made, the kitchen benches all tidy, the power was on, and the BBQ gas bottle was full. A ...

A leak in the bathroom basin plumbing was attended to by Dixie very promptly. We enjoy our stay in this cottage so will be back.

Very comfortable, well equipped, lovely great big lawn for the kids to race around on. We had a brilliant stay and would gladly come back again. Two minor points - I thought it could have been cleaner given the very high cleaning charge we paid, and the only thing missing was an umbrella for shade outside on the deck to allow you to enjoy meals on the large outdoor table.

Well equipped with everything we needed and an easy walk to the beach. Clean and tidy. (Only 1 bathroom & separate toilet, although listed as 2 bathrooms.) Well furnished inside, maybe the outside deck could do with a little more comfort & tlc. Would definitely stay again

We had a wonderful few days (grandparents and five grandchildren). The beaches nearby were brilliant and it was nice to have the big lawn with the shady tree to come back to for a bit of "downtime" in-between swims, walks and boogie boarding at Sandy Bay nearby. Next time we would book surf school for them and horse-riding for those keen. They also loved having the shop two doors down and the generous ice-creams!

Great front lawn for kid's ball games. Great location - a short 5 min walk to the beach, a couple of doors from the shop.

Spacious, clean, lots of pantry and fridge space. We had a fabulous couple of days there.

The house was roomy enough for our 4 teenagers. Nicely presented and looked after. Lovely large bathroom and shower. The kitchen was well decked out with every piece of equipment you could want or need. The extra fridge in the laundry area was a bonus. We enjoyed the sunshine on the deck and the short walk to the beach. This house is close to the local store and takeaways and on the main road but apart from lots of people walking past we didn't notice extra noise or disturbance. We'll be back for longer next time!

The feijoa trees on the property were bursting with fruit. A family friendly, comfortable home away from home. A great place to stay which I would have no qualms in doing so again. Thank you.

It is very well equipped with a great kitchen, big bathroom and spacious living area. Couldn't be closer to the diary for ice creams and a short walk to spectacular Matapouri beach. We were a family group of 2 adults and 4 teens and it was perfect for us.

Our linen service will provide all sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, and tea towels for your stay. Weâll also make up the beds for you prior to arrival and strip them down after your departure. Pillows and duvets are provided at the property.

Matapouri Cottage is a 3 bedroom Matapouri holiday home in the beautiful Tutukaka Coast! This Matapouri holiday home is a light and comfortable base for your next Northland holiday, with easy outdoor living for making the most of summer! There is sleeping for up to 5 adults and 2 children at this Matapouri accommodation. Bedroom 1 is fitted with a queen bed, bedroom 2 with a double bed, and bedroom 3 with 1 single bunk set plus 1 single bed. There is an additional sofa bed in the alcove of the living area. About the location
A 10-minute drive from Tutukaka or a 2 hour 25 minute drive from Auckland and you'll find yourself in the marine paradise that is Matapouri. Matapouri is one of those idyllic spots, where every corner you turn you'll find yourself in awe as you stumble upon another azure blue cove lined with Pohutukawa or golden dunes. There's much to explore with Whale Bay nearby being accessed via a 15 minute bush walk, and of course the legendary mermaid pools a large natural set of rock pools set against the ocean perfect for swimming in at low tide.
