Dunedin is renowned as the student city of New Zealand, where one-sixth of the city's population is made up of the students attending New Zealand's oldest and largest university, the University of Otago. There are a number of cultural attractions in Dunedin, such as the art galleries, museums and libraries, as well as a number of Victorian and Edwardian Buildings scattered throughout the central city. Visitors to Dunedin may also be interested in touring the Speight's Brewery or following the Dunedin Art and Craft Trail. Other attractions include the Dunedin Botanic Gardens, which are the oldest botanic gardens in the country, the Otago Settler's Museum, which opened in 1898, mountain biking on Signal Hill and the many local beaches in the area.
