Stefan “Great little beach house or bach/crib.”
Worked perfectly for boys weekend away. Quirky layout but perfectly functional. Great view of the bay, plenty of good walks around, including up to the Cable Bay and Mudbrick Wineries. Shortish walk to the cafes and shops in Oneroa and another shortish walk in the other direction to Malone's pub and convenience store. Located on a sloped section which could be difficult for some people or families with young kids. Great deck area with BBQ and outdoor table chairs, perfect for ...
Great deck area with BBQ and outdoor table chairs, perfect for watching the sun go down over the hills. Heat pump to keep the living area warm, also has a fireplace for the colder months which would be required. I'd go back, we had a great weekend and having a suitable base makes the experience so much more enjoyable. Thank you!

Jaz “Spacious, quirky house with a stunning view and a fantastic location - walking distance to many things, bus stop close by.”
Very relaxing and quiet place to stay. A little tired in terms of maintenance and comfort - but you're paying for the view and it's worth it.
- Jaz, March 2024Natasha “Should be listed as Blackpool.”
very basic accommodation. the beds where comfortable. it was quiet and out of the way. the drive way was very difficult to get luggage up. it had everything we need apart from a tv remote!
- Natasha, March 2023Kia ora Natasha, to give better clarity for our guests, we have updated the name of the property to specify Blackpool. We have also provided a new TV remote, thanks for bringing that to our attention. We will look into the other concerns, but thank you for your feedback and we look forward to seeing you again. John “Loved our stay.”
Comfortable bed. Would come again.
- John, March 2023Jacqueline “The location is good (within walking distance to Oneroa).”
However Blackpool beach is a muddy one so you can't spend the day there with a towel but you can use a paddle board or kayak when the tide is in. We found the property a bit shabby and tired and an investment is needed to bring it up yo scratch. It needs freshening up with some paint and some general maintenance is required. The air conditioning is very poor and it made for an uncomfortable stay even with the fans provided (they just blow the warm air around the place).
- Jacqueline, January 2023Jacqueline, Thank you very much for your feedback we have taken these on board and we will be addressing it. We hope to welcome you back in the future. We have also added instructions to the heatpump remote explaining how to change the setting from heat to air conditioning. Bachcare
Rachel “Property was clean and exactly what we needed for a weekend in Waiheke.”
Views from the living area are fabulous and the native birds in the trees around the property just topped off our stay
- Rachel, November 2022Diane “We had a great stay here.”
Stunning views and the house is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Recommend for families and will definitely be back we loved been in Blackpool away from the busy Oneroa just over the way.
- Diane, April 2022Gillian “A brilliant beach front house with exceptional views.”
The property is very comfortable and in a great location within easy walking distance to Oneroa Village and other great walks right on the doorstep. The house is open and spacious with everything you need for a relaxing Island stay. We would happily return.
- Gillian, December 2021Jay “Nice tidy little bach well equipped”
- Jay, November 2020Anita “Absolutely amazing views.”
We loved our stay and hope to return.
- Anita, October 2020Marisa “Great view, nice and peaceful location”
- Marisa, March 2020Jennie “A lovely Kiwi bach, was perfect for our family of 5.”
Beautiful views, light & bright, & blissfully quiet. Double bed was very comfortable, although size restrictive. The younger adults in our family found their beds a bit soft. Portable fans were a bonus in the heat. We were carless, but found the stroll into the village & wineries all part of the experience.
- Jennie, February 2020John “We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”
The property had an awesome location overlooking Blackpool Beach, was clean, tidy and had plenty of living spaces, a deck and barby overlooking the bay, and everything else you would need in a home away from home. It was a nice quiet location, not far from Oneroa with a great walk by the water's edge. If you want to get away from it all, enjoy million dollar views, but be close enough to Waiheke's best beaches and cafes then this is a nice spot to do it in!
- John, January 2020Natalie “Amazing property - can't believe that most of the existing reviews are poor.”
This place had exceptional views, comfy beds, and an amazing shower. Will recommend to friends for sure!!
- Natalie, November 2019Brendon “This Bach has a great view in a nice quiet location.”
Unfortunately itâs unsafe for young children due to the opening windows near ground level and low fencing around the decking. We were disappointed with the cleanliness and the toaster not working. It was also very cold during the night even though it was summer time.
- Brendon, February 2019Hi Brendon, yes this property has great views! You will be glad to hear the toaster has now been repaired and we have updated the listing to clarify the properties suitability for children. Bachcare
Wendy “A lovely location in a quiet and tranquil setting.”
Beautiful views of the bay and lovely waterfront walks along the shore. Great place to stay.
- Wendy, February 2019Boris “Fantastic location with amazing views and in a very close proximity to town centre.”
If the place gets working kettle and toaster, it will be a 10/10.
- Boris, December 2018Hi Boris, Sorry to hear the kettle and toaster did not work. Both appliances have been repaired now Bachcare
Nicole “Amazing location and views to die for.”
The beds were very uncomfortable, but if you can put up with a lumpy bed then well worth it. That deck overlooking the water was on point.
- Nicole, November 2018Hi Nicole, it's fantastic to hear you thoroughly enjoyed those beautiful views! we are sorry to hear the beds were not of preference but worth the overall stay. Bachcare
Sarah “Great property, awesome location.”
Away from the hustle and bustle of Oneroa but still walking distance to shops and bus service.
- Sarah, November 2018Drew “Stunning view but that's where the joy stopped.”
Dysfunctional bedding arrangement next to kitchen with poor blackout drapes and failing fridge-freezer not repaired during our stay left us sleepless and unhappy.
- Drew, November 2018Hi Drew, Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry to hear you were disappointed with the bedding arrangement. We aim to have our listings as informative as possible and do advise of the bedding arrangement under special conditions. We apologise that the fridge/ freezer was not repaired during your stay and for any inconvenience this caused. Bachcare
