Steve “Needs a washing machine”
- Steve, November 2023 -
Ann “The driveway was so overgrown that our vehicle was scratched and we had to squeeze through the bushes to get past the car and into the property.”
There was an old vehicle parked under the car port, and weeds everywhere on the drive. The outside furniture was dirty and rotting. Once inside, the property was fine, except that: The shower doors jammed and jumped off their runners The toilet light flickered to the point of being unusable
- Ann, November 2022Hi Ann, We appreciate you taking the time to provide us insight into what was disappointing with your stay. We have let the local team and the owner know your recommendations. We look forward to hosting you again in the near future! Bachcare
Crystal “Slightly disappointed with the property if I'm honest.”
The floors were not swept as we entered the property and it was extremely dusty. Lovely sunshine, nice deck and sliding doors. Kitchen had lots of pots and pans, and oven was working pretty well. Would suggest bringing your own coffee/tea/milk as well as salt/pepper/oil as it was nowhere to be found. Would also suggest bringing insect repellent as most of us got bitten at night (our room was full of spiders).
- Crystal, April 2021Bachcare takes the cleaning and preparation of the properties we manage very seriously and we are sorry to hear that on this occasion our standards were not met. Basic amenities such as tea and coffee should be available for all guests. We have put a new local Holiday Manager in place for this property. Bachcare
Lauren “We were disappointed to see the review from February which indicated the house was not very clean.”
We thought that this would have been dealt with as per bachcares reply. When we arrived this was not the case, the house was dirty, very dusty, covered in cobwebs and dead bugs. The dishes were smelly and not clean and there was no dishwasher liquid to wash up. This place would be nice if it was properly cleaned and looked after.
- Lauren, March 2021Thank you for your feedback Lauren. We are very sorry to hear this is what you experienced as we have mentioned this is not our usual high standard. We are currently doing additional training on the ground and will be completing a full deep clean of the property to get it up to our regular standard. Bachcare
Hannah “The house is extremely dated and had dust layers, dead insects, squashed mosquitoes with dried blood on walls/curtains and cobwebs throughout, we also didn't feel like it had been cleaned properly so spent half an hour wiping down the bathroom and kitchen surfaces and vacuuming.”
There was rotting meat left in the rubbish bin which attracted flies, the BBQ was so unclean it should be thrown away, some outdoor furniture was split so dangerous to use. The beds and set up was basic and fine, we were grateful for a late check out today. The property is in a great location, has amazing bones but needs a lot of love to get it up to the standard of renting it out, especially at the price we were charged so definitely won't be recommending it to others to stay.
- Hannah, February 2021Thank you for your review Hannah. At Bachcare we take cleaning very seriously and have strict guidelines in place to maintain our high standard. It's unfortunate that this was not what you experienced, as that's not our usual high standard. We will follow up on this with our local team along with any other maintenance that may be required. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the great location of Hedgehog Heights and hope you enjoyed your time on Waiheke Island. Bachcare
Tessa “Five of us stayed in this bach for a couple of nights and it did the job just fine.”
It's slightly dated but has a nice view, and it's really all you need when you just need somewhere to stay as we spent most of the time out. The pull-out couch bed is fine as long as someone doesn't mind being in the lounge. Everything is clean and the kitchen has everything you need. Really easy to get to from car ferry :) I'd stay there again
- Tessa, February 2020Kah mun “A cosy house set on the side of a hill with a large, sloping section, the bach enjoys great views of the ocean.”
