HOT WATER BEACH

An experience like no other, you can dig your own hot pool here in Hot Water Beach. Bring your shovels and swimming gear and head towards the rocks on the southern end of the beach during low tide, and start digging! You’ll see the hot water from underground springs start to fill in the hole. If you don’t have a shovel, don’t worry. You can rent it from nearby cafes.
CATHEDRAL COVE (KAYAK)

A picturesque beach with natural rock arch and crystal-clear waters, Cathedral Cove is not to be missed. At the moment, the beach is closed however you still get to explore the area from a different viewpoint – from the ocean! Hop on a kayak tour or a boat cruise that will take you up and close to the beach. Keep your eyes out for a variety of marine wildlife, including seals and dolphins.
PINNACLES WALK

This 12 km overnight hike takes you through one of the most breathtaking sceneries in New Zealand. Also known as the Kauaeranga Kauri Trail, you’ll hike through rugged terrains in the beautiful mountain ranges of The Coromandel.
Starting from the top of the Thames river, you’ll get to see the spectacular east coast views before descending down to Pinnacles Hut. On day 2, climb on top of the Pinnacles where you get 360-degree views of the Coromandel Peninsula. It’s definitely something you have to experience while in New Zealand! Guided tours are also available.
COROMANDEL COASTAL WALKWAY

Walk the Coromandel Coastal Walkway, a stunning trek offering panoramic views of the coastline, forests and cliffs. The walk takes around 3-4 hours one way, 7 hours return, and as you go through native forests and rocky coves, you’ll get to see the incredible islands that are just offshore of the coastline.
There are plenty of local guides that can help with transport along the walk.
