3. Tairua – Approximately 2 hour drive

4. Lake Tarawera – 3 hour, 20 minute drive.
A 20 minute drive from Rotorua will take you to the stunning landscape of Lake Tarawera.

5. Hawkes Bay – Approximately 5 hour, 40 minute drive.
While it’s a bit further away – Hawkes Bay is well worth the drive. Not only does it boast gorgeous Art deco buildings in Napier – it’s also world-renowned for its wine and having the world’s largest mainland gannet colony!
