It’s also a perfect place to simply grab a drink and watch the sun set. There’s definitely a reason why people are flocking here!

Of all of the Tairua cafes, this one grabs our top spot. With a menu full of quality seasonal food available for brunch or lunch, and a super cute homewares shop, Colenso County Café is a delight. The property is lined with gorgeous mandarin orchards, incredible organic gardens and they even have workshops to learn how to make some of their fabulous dishes at home. Oh, and we can’t forget about their custom platters, which are reason enough to come to Tairua alone!

Hands down some of the best seafood in the Coromandel, Marina Bar and Grill also comes with world class views. One of their quirkiest and most popular options is the ‘cook your catch’, where you can bring in your haul from a day at sea and they’ll prepare it for you to eat that very evening. They also serve their own craft beers – from their Paku Bay Brewing Co., which is all brewed on-site.

Part of the international slow food movement, they only use locally sourced foods—like their delicious Coromandel oysters, Cathedral Cove hazelnuts and herbs grown on-site—which makes each dish a feast to remember!
