A 15-20 minute bush walk over the hill at the end of Matapouri beach is rewarded with a natural rock pool perched right down on the oceans edge – known as the mermaid pool. The walk to the Tutukaka light house takes you through native bush and across beaches located on the Tutukaka headland – a beautiful track to conquer! A local tennis court, golf course, as well as excellent fishing in the area round off the energetic pursuits.
